Just because you hate country music, does it make you not American?

Or does it make you look like you don't care for the country? Or not patriotic? My friend seems to think that because I hate country music that means I hate America. Silly thing because I am very patriotic, have registered to vote, participate generously in elections, etc. i just happen to prefer underground/alt/indie music, and she is saying I'm not a true American.
