NIGHT by ELIE WEISEL???
Well, I read this book a very long time ago, but I can give you a few answers. His first impression of the Death Camp was that he was being tricked as the death camps were surrounded by trees and nice yards to trick people but Jews are very smart people and he knew it was a trick and he had deep faith and prayed that God would help him to survive. He felt like he was in a big nightmare and prayed for God to help him survive each day. The prisoners were barely given enough for a tiny bird to survive, This is why so many starved to death ...The stronger prisoners were forced to go into the gas chambers and death chambers and to carry out the dead bodies. It was a horrible job to pick up and carry out dead bodies. They had to do this every day. At the end when Elie said the famous quote, he meant that he would never forget.
